The description
We will see Reykjavik as it truly is — not as a postcard, but as a living city where you might want to stay longer.
From the main square known for the “Kitchenware Revolution” protests, we will look at the building where today sits Alþingi, the oldest parliament in Europe.
We will stroll to Tjörnin Lake, where geese and swans have long been full-fledged city residents. You’ll see Iceland in miniature on a detailed 3D relief map of the island. We will “shake hands” with Iceland’s key national heroes, explorers, and cultural figures immortalized in the city’s sculptures.
We will stop by the legendary “presidential” hot dog stand
Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur, a Reykjavik institution. You will also see where the Prime Minister of Iceland lives.
We’ll walk along Laugavegur, the country’s main shopping street, before heading up the colorful streets toward Reykjavik’s iconic landmark — Hallgrímskirkja. From its tower, on a clear day, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city, the surrounding mountains, and the Atlantic Ocean.
