Description
We will travel into the heart of the island along the classic Golden Circle Iceland route, which brings together key natural and cultural symbols of the country.
In Þingvellir National Park, you will visit the historical and geological heart of Iceland — a place where, since 930 AD, major assemblies and decisions have taken place. Here you can literally walk along the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates and see one of the region’s most scenic lakes.
Next, we will head to the geothermal Haukadalur Valley, home to the legendary Geysir that gave its name to all geysers worldwide. You will witness the regular eruptions of its active neighbor and feel the raw power of Icelandic earth.
After a short break and lunch stop, we will continue to Gullfoss, an impressive cascade rightly considered one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls. On the return journey, we will visit Kerið Crater Lake, striking with the contrast of red volcanic rock and bright green water.
