DescriptionDescription
We will begin the day traveling around the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, circling the majestic Snæfellsjökull Volcano — the setting of Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth. This glacier-topped volcano stands like a guardian over the peninsula and has inspired generations of travelers and writers.
Our first stop will be Ytri Tunga Beach, where local seals often rest along the shore. From there we continue toward the iconic Búðakirkja Black Church, a striking and minimalist landmark against the volcanic landscape.
Next, we will visit Arnarstapi Cliffs, where dramatic basalt columns meet the pounding ocean. The wild charm of this coastline is ideal for photography and short walks.
At Djúpalónssandur Black Beach, you can test your strength by attempting to lift the traditional fisherman’s stones and feel the raw power of the Atlantic surf.
Finally, we will arrive at Kirkjufell Mountain, whose distinctive shape has made it one of Iceland’s most recognized and beloved landscapes.
